Ministries
The Children’s Ministry of FBC Decherd is designed to partner with parents in helping their children come to faith in Christ, be discipled, and engaged in ministry. In addition to Sunday School, FBC Decherd also offers a mid-week children’s program every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. where we focus on teaching children the content of the Bible and how to study the Bible for themselves. We also have many fun and engaging activities throughout the year.
The Youth Ministry of FBC Decherd is called ‘The GAP’. Our goal is to help middle school and high schoolers develop their faith by understanding what they believe and why they believe so they can stand in The GAP for Jesus. The GAP meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. We also offer a youth Sunday School class along with many youth events and activities throughout the year. The youth at FBC are also engaged in the life and ministry of the church.
Building relationships is key to being fully engaged in the life of a church. At FBC Decherd we look to strengthen our fellowship with the Lord and with each other through various small groups such as Sunday School. At FBC Decherd there is a Sunday School class for all ages and all walks of life. Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday.
Men at FBC Decherd connect with one another to be the men that God created them to be. The men of the church are taught the importance of Godly manhood and leadership in the home, church, and community. The men meet once a month for breakfast and to learn from one another. Several men’s events are scheduled throughout the year such as our annual men’s retreat. The men of the church are also involved in various ministry projects.
Godly women are essential to the health of any church. The ladies of our church meet once a month for a meal and Bible study. The ladies are also involved in various ministries of the church and are engaged in mentoring and encouraging one another.
The Decherd Discipleship Institute is designed to help strengthen our fellowship with the Lord and to provide training for ministry. The Decherd Discipleship Institute offers several classed available both in person and through video as well as several certificate programs that you can pursue.
The media ministry of FBC Decherd works to engage with people through the various virtual forms of communication we have today. The media ministry is constantly working to stay on top of the latest technology. FBC Decherd has a presence through Facebook, YouTube, and RighNow Media. Other media outlets are also being pursued and FBC Decherd will have a presence wherever it is feasible.
The Deacons of FBC Decherd are caring and loving men who minister to the families of the church. Each Deacon is assigned a group of families that they care for. The deacons build relationships with their families and are available to provide encouragement, prayer, counsel, and to help meet the needs of families within the church.
